Hello! 😃 My name’s Cathal, but everyone calls me Catty. I’m currently the Creative Director for Social Chain USA based in New York City. We specialize in building the online presences of some of the world’s biggest brands, using Social Media as our primary vehicle.

I’ve worked in social marketing since I was 16, which has allowed me to build an acute understanding of how social content should be ideated, created and distributed.

After spending my early teens experimenting with content creation across social platforms, I discovered my talent for building large communities online. Building some of the UK's largest social media pages provided me with introductions to other prolific creators, allowing me to build a global network of media owners and publishers.


After finishing 6th Form and at 19, I dropped out of University to join a team of around 4 in The Social Chain's UK offices.

In our first year, the team grew to around 30 staff, and I worked my way up to the position of Head of Campaigns.

During this period I worked with brands such as Puma, Malibu, Comedy Central, BBC and Universal to provide innovative methods of increasing their presence online. 


At the end of the year I was recognised by Tech Insider as one of their "50 most influential people on Social Media"


The Social Chain finished 2015 with The Drum's Social Media Agency of the Year award, and Prolific North's Digital Agency of the Year. 


2016 saw our expansion reach Berlin and New York.

In July 2016, alongside one other colleague I relocated to NYC and took on the fresh challenge of launching Social Chain in a new market.

By 2018, the US business is turning over 7 figures in revenue and employs just under 40 full time staff.

Social Chain Group now employs 180+ full time staff globally, and our culture of constantly challenging tradition is no different.

As Creative Director, I lead a team of creatives in conceptualizing and executing viral marketing campaigns and strategies for some of the world's biggest brands. I also oversee the agencies distribution and media strategy, pairing brands with owned and external audiences. 


I'm a frequent public speaker and panellist, having spoken at around 20 conferences across the UK and USA.
